Backyard:
The homeowners goal for this space was to conserve water by retaining any rainwater that falls into their property. Swales were created in the back yard which also connects to the water garden in the front yard. A down spout can be connected when rain is due so it can be collected in the swale. All the large amount of patio paving drains into the swale as well. The plants were chosen for their ability to maintain in times of drought. The water system is remotely controlled and waters only when necessary based on local weather.
